Position:  Junior Chef De Partie / Commis Chef

Location:  Cape Town

Salary:  R4, 500 per month

Description:

A small luxury boutique hotel in Cape Town is looking for a Junior Chef De Partie or Commis Chef to join their team. The role will consist of providing a service in the kitchen and will be fully responsible for the preparation of certain menu items.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of food items
  • Maintain hygiene and cleaning standard
  • Good communication skills with senior staff
  • Stock taking
  • Ordering on a daily and weekly basis from suppliers
  • Working shifts assigned to you
  • Assisting in other areas of the kitchen as required
  • Training and development in cooking and kitchen skills

Education:

  • Matric or Grade 12 certificate
  • Culinary degree or certificate
  • 1-2 years cooking experience in a hotel or restaurant.
